200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMS
A Yoga Alliance Registered Certification Program

Director: Lyn Kehoe
Buddhi Power Yoga Teacher Training Program will prepare you to lead an all-level power yoga class – beginners to experienced students. Learn to weave a perfect blend of technical knowledge and philosophy that speaks directly to the students, while still keeping the pace of the class.  Emphasis will be on how to apply yoga philosophy and principles not only in teaching but also in every day living. Learn to take control and command a class as you encourage students to be guided by their intuition and work intelligently on their mats.

We offer two types of training tracks. The first is a Certification program. All contact and non-contact hours are mandatory as outlined below. Students in the Certification program are working towards earning a certificate to teach yoga and will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance upon completion. However, we understand that sometimes a yoga student is interested in just deepening his or her own practice and understanding of yoga, not necessarily on a teaching path. With that in mind we offer a Student Education Program, as well.

Program Outline
The curriculum includes:

TECHNIQUES & TEACHING METHODOLOGY:
foundational elements of power vinyasa yoga
class format and sequencing
“reading” a pose
modifications for poses
safe and effective adjustments
effective cuing, using your own voice
principles of demonstration
learn to lead a class for students at different levels

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY:
basic anatomy and movements of the body
breathing anatomy
ujjayi breathing technique
alignment and benefits of primary power yoga asanas
common muscular imbalances and injuries

PHILOSOPHY/ETHICS:
Ashtanga Yoga – Eight-Limbed Path/applying the Yamas and Niyamas in class
philosophy of power vinyasa yoga
living your yoga
ethics for teachers and business

PRACTICUM:
practice teaching
class assists
class observation
