ABOUT BUDDHI MAT
“Buddhi” is the intelligence that exists in all of us. It is the intuition that lies within allowing us to see what is good for us and what is not. What is right and what is wrong.

It is the guiding light behind our internal wisdom and our reactions to the world.


 


Our Mission
We believe that yoga is a way of life. Not just a physical practice on the mat, but a mindset. A commitment to bringing awareness and intention to all our thoughts and actions. Our aim at Buddhi Mat is to be a true reflection of what we believe.

We are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive community, accessible to all, to help you embark on your own personal path of self-discovery and transformation. We will encourage and challenge you to discover your own “buddhi mind”, while honoring and embracing your uniqueness.

And we will be with you every step of the way on this journey of living your yoga.

 

Our Philosophy
At Buddhi Mat we believe that yoga is for everyone and every “body”. With this in mind we have created a process that is accessible to most individuals no matter their background or experience. Our intention is not in creating a perfect pose, but in creating YOUR perfect pose. We will encourage you to focus less on how you look and more on what you feel. What we like to call “intelligent intuition” on the mat. When you bring attention to what you are feeling in a pose, listening to your internal wisdom, you are able to work more safely and honestly – not with your ego!

Buddhi Power Yoga, our signature class, is a dynamic and challenging yoga. It builds a strong body and a flexible mind. We are of the mindset that being healthy is more than just a fit body. The lessons we learn and practice on the mat will ultimately help guide us when we step off. You will not be required to become a gymnast, but we will ask you to breathe, sweat, and move your body with awareness. For we believe that being aware of our actions and reactions in our daily life starts by pushing the limits on the mat in a healthy way.

You need not show up with any prior knowledge of yoga. The only requirements are a desire to be in the process, acknowledgement that you must start somewhere and to honor the place that you are in. Whether an experienced yogi or a brand new beginner you will be encouraged to listen to your body, challenged to play your edge and reminded to back off when feeling overwhelmed. It is up to you to make the class as challenging as you like. Our knowledgeable teachers will encourage, support, and constantly remind you that you are right where you need to be, just breathe. There will be times when you might think you can’t go on, but you will. This will not only leave you looking and feeling better, but you just might start seeing things a little clearer too!

We are more Karma and less Dogma. We will not preach, but ask that you come with an open mind. This might just be the hardest thing you ever do, but also the best. So start getting out of your head and into your body. There’s no place like now.
